Highlights of the 508th Vardhanthi of Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya
commemorated at Shreee ram Kabir Mandir, 530E. 231st Street, Carson, CA-90745 on
2 April 2011 (Saturday) from 3pm to 8pm.
SVASA organized
the devotional services commemorating the
508th Vardhanthi of Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya in
Carson, CA More than Hundred devotees attended the
devotional services.

Sankirtana recital in progress
The Vardhanthi commemoration began @ 3pm with the
Uregimpu of Annmayya, Sri Venkateswara and Padmavathi Ammavaru while the
devotees sang the Annamayya Pancharatnamala. The Avahanam was marked with the
Gurudeva Prarthana and the Sankeerthana recital followed a brief introductory
speech by the President of SVASA on Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya & his works.
About 25 vocalists participated in the Sankeerthana recital. The core
Sankeerthanas of SVASA were rendered for the first hour led by Smt. Annapurna Duvvuri
and others. Several younger vocalists accompanied.
This devotional program has been focused to encourage the participation of
school children. More than thirty Sankeerthanas were recited over 4 hours. Among the Sankeerthanas were Adivo Alladivo, Kondalalo Nelakonna,
Bhavayami Gopala Balam, Vinaro Bhagyamu, Thane Thane, Garuda Gamana, Muddu Garay,
Tandanana Ahi, etc. Introduction and an apt commentary to the
Sankeerthanas were provided by Satya Duvvuri, president of SVASA to benefit the
participants in understanding the meaning and context of the
Sankeerthanas. Mangalamu
Govindunaku was recited by the group as the Mangalam Sankeerthana.
This devotional program was well received by the
devotees. The program concluded with the Mangalasasanam to Sri
Venkateswara. Prasadam was distributed to the devotees after the Mangalasasanam.
